Overview

Eatron operates at the forefront of the electrification revolution. Their intelligent battery management software makes electric-powered products safer, smarter and more efficient. Despite their technical sophistication, the brand and digital presence felt overly technical and visually dated. It didn’t reflect the precision, innovation or ambition behind the product.

PROBLEM

CHALLENGE

The previous identity lacked cohesion, clarity and modernity. Heavy gradients, drop shadows and abstract tech motifs obscured the logo’s core form, and the website relied on generic tech aesthetics that no longer reflected Eatron’s sophistication. There was no unified system to express safety, precision or innovation. The challenge was to translate complex battery technology into clear, confident design while preserving the heritage embodied in the original wordmark.

The brief was to modernise the identity while preserving the equity of a logo the founders were emotionally attached to.

The previous identity lacked cohesion and clarity. Heavy gradients, drop shadows and abstract tech motifs obscured the logo’s core form, while the wider visual language leaned on generic technology aesthetics. There was no unified system to communicate safety, precision or innovation.

The challenge was to translate complex battery technology into a clear and confident visual language, without losing the heritage embedded in the original wordmark.

APPROACH

I began by reframing heritage rather than replacing it.

Instead of discarding the existing logo, I stripped it back. Removing heavy gradients, shadows and the outdated tagline revealed a cleaner, more timeless wordmark. The logotype was recoloured and decoupled from the brand mark, giving it space to feel more premium and precise.

Typography and colour were chosen to mirror the geometry of the wordmark. Neulis Sans introduced subtle echoes of the logo’s forms, while a restrained palette created hierarchy without distraction.

Motion was treated as a design material, not decoration. Subtle transitions were developed to introduce rhythm and precision, reinforcing the technical nature of the product without overwhelming content.

To move away from generic tech visuals, the art direction shifted towards the natural world. Large-scale landscape photography highlighted the environmental context of Eatron’s technology, reframing the brand as enabling sustainable progress rather than abstract innovation.

LEARNING

Insights I learned from this project:

This project reinforced the value of refinement over reinvention.

Preserving and modernising a recognisable wordmark can anchor transformation without losing familiarity. It also deepened my understanding of how restrained palettes and natural imagery can humanise complex technical brands.
